Närmaste skidområde till Denver Metro-området och ett av få som erbjuder kvällsåkning i Colorado. Du är på I-70 i ett par kilometer om du inte åker den långa vägen via Idaho Springs. Det har en trevlig liten familjeägd atmosfär i kontrast till några av de andra mycket större företagsorterna längre upp på vägen. Bra ställe för nybörjare och personer som jag som inte har åkt skidor på över två år och vill komma tillbaka till skidåkningsrytmen.

Jeremiah var till stor hjälp med att välja och prova pjäxor, och Timm var en fantastisk och supertrevlig instruktör. En lift för mellanliggande och avancerade skidåkare, och en rulltrappa för nybörjare. Trevlig stämning i backarna och i restaurangen. Någon visar dig var du ska parkera, och på en hektisk dag var det fortfarande en kort väntetid för att hämta hyrbilar. Bäst att köpa liftkort och hyrbilar minst dagen innan avresa. Militärrabatter uppskattas, tack.

Enkel dagsutflykt från norra COS eller Denver. Du är bara på I-70 i ungefär 8 kilometer. Om du har barn kan du räkna med att spendera ungefär 50 % av den totala restiden på faktisk skidåkning/snowboardåkning, vilket är ett rekord för mig. Epic-skidåkningsställen ger dig ungefär 20-30 % faktisk tid i backarna om du vill klämma in det bekvämt på en dag och trafiken kan vara hemsk när du kommer tillbaka på I-70. Familjeägt, allt är avslappnat, jag kan inte fatta att sådana här ställen fortfarande finns kvar.

Jag träffade vänner och deras 2-åriga dotter för att åka tubing. Jag var 1:50 tidig och satt på parkeringen i 20 minuter och försökte köpa en biljett online. Jag kunde inte göra det utan gick in. Jag fick höra att det inte gick att köpa biljetter för mindre än 2 timmar online och att priset hade gått från 29 dollar till 42 dollar FÖR EN TIMME! Jag frågade om jag kunde köpa en biljett för nästa timme och åka tubing nu? NEJ. Tänk på att det var en onsdagseftermiddag och att tunnelbanebanorna var helt tomma. Men inga undantag, ingen omsorg, inget rimligt "du vet, det är ingen stor grej, vi är tomma nu, vi säljer dig en 29 dollar". NEJ. Jag frågade två olika anställda... samma likgiltiga attityd. Ärligt talat är tubingbacken inte värd 29 dollar/timme och den är definitivt inte värd 42 dollar/timme. Jag rekommenderar starkt INTE Echo Mountain.

It's a great deal! Fun place for a quick family trip! The tube sledding is awesome! and so is the food!!

Echo is a rather beginner to intermediate practice mountain with 2-3 runs and one ski lift. It's not a place where you would want to go on a multi-day trip, but is better suited for the local Denver resident or an intermediate skier trying to get some practice in before heading to the big resorts. The food and bar is adequate and is relatively inexpensive. You will have fun, but not for long.

No Veteran's passes = I will not renew this year. Overpriced for what you get by far. Dangerous for beginners and on crowded days not infrequent to see skis and snowboards flying down the hill and airborn which is extremely dangerous! Not recomendable unless you are intermediate and above and willing to swivel head the entire time onslope to avoid loose skis ans people out of control.

I took my parents here over the recent holiday week to refresh them after a 15 year break from skiing. The staff were helpful and friendly, the slopes were the perfect difficulty for getting their ski legs back, and there were enough steeper sections to keep me entertained as well. We got in for first chair, and didn't really face any crowd whatsoever for several hours. Only downside was the single trail to the only lift. Its a moderately difficult green, and it proved too difficult for a large number of first time skiers who attempted it as the day wore on. By the end of our visit, the hardest challenge was dodging snowboarders wiped out on the way. This was likely more to do with the time of year than the resort, though, and overall it was still an amazing experience. If you are a competent green skier at nearby resorts like Loveland, this could be the perfect place to improve and prepare for harder trails. You cannot beat the price or proximity to Denver, so I know I'll be back a few times this season!

WOW! Echo...what an experience! I tried calling Echo Mountain about 8 or 10 times over a 2 day period. Never got an answer. They just don't answer the phone there so I couldn't tell if they were open or get info. There website was also up and down. When I was finally able to open the website I found some old info on it from last year and the answers to my questions were not listed. They are simply way over priced for what you actually get and therefore a poor value. In addition, they don't offer any senior pricing that most all other ski areas (both large and small) do. I took a chance and drove up to Echo anyway and to my surprise they were open. I told ticket office staff of my frustrations and inability to contact them. The staff person's curt answer was that they are a very small area and just can't get to everything. (Note: I'm a single person business and have managed to stay in business for 30 years by handling everything by myself including phone answering) Echo was the 23rd of a total of 28 ski areas that I plan to ski yet this year in Colorado. And some areas I've skied so far are about the same size as Echo. Conclusion: All things considered, through my online and actual on the snow research, I find that Echo is without a doubt the worst ski area I have visited so far this year in Colorado. I give them a score of a generous one star.
